PURPOSE: A method for managing a phone book in a wire communication terminal and the wire communication terminal therefor are provided to simply register a phone number of an originator in a desired group. CONSTITUTION: A phone book storing DB(150) classifies and stores phone numbers in a directory classified by a group. A phone book management module(161) receives an incoming call including originator phone numbers which are not registered in the phone book storing DB. The phone book management module displays a selection menu of a group list, in which the originator phone numbers will be stored, on a display unit. The phone book management module stores the originator phone numbers in a corresponding group of the phone book storing DB by receiving a selection signal for one group.
