PURPOSE: A wireless LAN(Local Area Network) access point and a method for controlling a bandwidth using the same are provided to guarantee the QoS(Quality of Service) of a terminal. CONSTITUTION: A wireless LAN system monitor unit(110) detects an event influencing an effective bandwidth in a wireless LAN system. The wireless LAN system monitor unit calculates an effective bandwidth of the wireless LAN system using access speed by a terminal and an effective bandwidth by access speed. When a required bandwidth of a terminal which requires QoS is wider than the effective bandwidth, a traffic controller(130) blocks traffic transmitted to a terminal with lower priority corresponding to the width difference.
