There is offered technology of expanded clay (keramsite) and porous ceramic granules production from phylosilicate raw materials with augmented content of quartz and feldspars of 60 to 80 wt% and limited amount of clay-minerals of 20 to 40 wt%. The quartz and feldspars are in the fine grained shape with grain size 0.005 – 0.05 mm and relation of quartz and feldspar is located in between 3:1 and 5:1. Firing process is carried out in one stage by temperature raising rate 200 – 300oC/min. Acquired product is ceramic granules with bulk density 0.38 – 1.2 g/cm3 and is available as ingredient in the building materials and as surface active material by sorption and filtration technology.
