PURPOSE: A system for offering a multimedia service based on a router and a method thereof are provided to minimize a channel switching delay time in consideration of a neighbor multicast group in the channel switching operation. CONSTITUTION: An RACR(Robust Aggregation Control Router)(200a) transfers a CID(Channel Information Discover) request solicitation to an adjacent RACR(200b), and a channel order decision unit of the RACR judges the validity of the channel information of the RACR within the CID response message. The RACR determines a channel priority, and a bandwidth controller of the RACR arranges the channel priority according to the bandwidth situation of an IPTV user. |
