PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing Malva Sylvestris extract is provided to suppress intermediate or end product and to lighten skin color. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for skin whitening contains Malva Sylvestris extract as an active ingredient. The cosmetic composition additionally contains Pinus strobes bark extract as an active ingredient. The extract is contained in 0.001-10.0 weight% based on total weight. A method for preparing the extract comprises: a step of washing Malva Sylvestris and Pinus strobes bark with water; a step of drying in the shadow; a step of extracting with extraction solvent; and a step of filtering and concentrating. The extraction solvent is water(purified water), low alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, or mixture solvent thereof. The cosmetic composition is used in the form of massage cream, essence, eye cream, cleansing cream, cleansing foam, cleansing water, pack, or spray.
