<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper conveyance device that enables highly accurate alignment of an image position relative to paper with a simple configuration and at a low cost; and also to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A correction guide member 18 disposed between a secondary transfer part by a secondary transfer roller 7, and a registration roller 12 is provided so as to be movable in the vertical direction of the figure. When it is determined by the detection output of a timing sensor 17 that the entry of paper to a transfer section is earlier than an appropriate time, the correction guide member 18 is moved upward and a correction is made to increase the length of a conveyance path. In the opposite case, the correction guide member 18 is moved downward to decrease the length of the conveyance path.
