PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that can surely suppress blurring of a contour in an image having, mixed therein, a high density part and an area in which the density changes. SOLUTION: The printer 1 records an image on a medium S while ejecting ink droplets thereon. The printer 1 includes a control part 60 that performs processes (s13, s23) of forming images (Img3i, Img3o) formed of pixels at inside and outside of a contour an original image Img1, processes (s14, s24) of forming inside and outside contour images (Img5i, Img5o) obtained by expanding inside and outside contour images by predetermined pixels, a process s2 of forming a differential image Img6 between the inside contour expansion image and the outside contour expansion image, a process s3 of forming a thinned image Img2 obtained by thinning the differential image forming pixels from the original image, and a process of recording, on a medium, an image of the original image including the thinned pixels on the basis of print image data in which density information of the thinned pixels is made to be low density.
