PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image correction apparatus, an image correction method, an image correction program, an image reading apparatus and an image reading system, by which an excellent object reading image can be obtained while reducing image luminance variations even if an external light change occurs. SOLUTION: An image analysis is applied to a first read image obtained by pre-scanning an image of an object by means of an image reading apparatus to specify an image correction region, a shading correction target region is specified based on the image correction region specified by the image analysis from a second read image obtained by reading the image of the object while switching reading due to the image reading apparatus from prescanning to main scanning, so that the shading correction in the shading correction target region is performed.
