<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for supplying filler wire capable of suitably fusing filler wire from the start of welding so as to stabilize a laser welding state when carrying out laser welding while supplying the filler wire to portions of a plurality of metal members to be welded, and also to provide a method for supplying the filler wire. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for supplying the filler wire has a heating device for heating the filler wire X by energization. The heating device includes: first rollers 51A, 51B contacting with a part in the vicinity of the end of the filler wire X; second rollers 61A, 62B arranged at positions set apart therefrom; a clamp contacting with metal plates W1, W2; and a power supply device 31 for causing energization through the filler wire X between the first rollers 51A, 51B and the second rollers 61A, 61B at the start of supplying the filler wire X and causing energization through the filler wire X and the metal plates W1, W2 between the first rollers 51A, 51B and the clamp 5 after a predetermined time from the start of supplying. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
