PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine capable of accurate speed adjustment. SOLUTION: The sewing machine includes: a sewing device 400 (sewing means) for forming stitches on processed cloth; a switch device 300 (switch means) for starting and stopping sewing; and a speed adjuster 200 (speed adjusting means) for adjusting the sewing speed of the processed cloth. The speed adjuster 200 includes: a speed adjusting dial 210 for having a user adjust the sewing speed; and a rotary volume 230 (sensor means) which is provided separately from the speed adjusting dial 210 and to which the rotation of the speed adjusting dial 210 is transmitted.
