PURPOSE: A mobile terminal for managing a multimedia file and an operating method thereof, a message server for helping multimedia file management of a mobile terminal are provided to correct the name of a multimedia file when storing the multimedia file. CONSTITUTION: A menu providing unit(130) edits a name of a multimedia file or provides a multimedia file editing screen for selecting an application which adopts the multimedia file. A control unit(190) displays the multimedia file editing screen when storing the multimedia file. The control unit stores the name of the multimedia file as the edited file name or controls the selected application to apply the multimedia file to the selected application.
