<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for reducing the power consumption of a printing device adapted to a plurality of printing methods. <P>SOLUTION: A printer driver 14 checks the operation status of a digital complex machine 2 depending on a printing instruction. The printer driver 14 transmits PJL data 43 for ordering PDL printing when the digital complex machine 2 is not in a normal mode. The printing data 42 of PDL form are created from manuscript data 41 and transmitted to the digital complex machine 2. On the other hand, the printer driver 14 transmits the PJL data 43 for ordering raster printing to the digital complex machine 2 when the digital complex machine 2 is in a power saving mode. The printing data 42 of a raster form are created from the manuscript data 41 and transmitted to the digital complex machine 2. The digital complex machine 2 prints the printing data 42 of the raster form without supplying power to a printer controller 231 when the digital complex machine 2 is in the power saving mode and the raster printing is requested. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
