PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character string conversion device, a character string conversion method and a program, allowing proper automatic setting to a conversion mode desired by a user with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A conversion mode detection part (21) detects the kind of a conversion mode corresponding to a sentence end character string of each sentence based on a conversion mode-detecting table (52) (step S3), counts a detection frequency in each kind of the detected conversion mode, and records it into a conversion mode count table (53) (step S4). After the recording, a conversion mode setting part (22) automatically sets the conversion mode to the kind of the conversion mode corresponding to the maximum detection frequency among the detection frequencies recorded in the conversion mode count table (53) (step S5).
