APPARATUS, METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR TYPE IDENTIFICATION OF ASBESTOS FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated asbestos fiber type identification apparatus used for an actual work. SOLUTION: The asbestos fiber type identification apparatus 20 includes: an imaging means 110 for implementing a white balance; a stage moving means 106 for moving a sample stage 105 in the horizontal direction so as to move a sample S placed on the sample stage 105 to an arbitrary observation position; a polarization member 118 installed between the imaging means 110 and a dispersive colored objective lens 108 of a phase difference dispersing microscope 100, and rotated relative to the sample S around an optical axis of a light from the sample S; an interval changing means 106 for changing an interval between the sample stage 105 and the imaging means 110; and an image processing unit 11 for implementing image processing of a sample image captured by the imaging means 110, thereby automatically identifying a type of an asbestos fiber having a birefringence.
