摘要 <p>Flushing of sludge is realized without the necessity of a large quantity of working liquid. A machining device for machining a workpiece (WK) is provided with a rod-shaped machining means (20) extending in one direction, a vibrating body (30) having an opening insertion hole (31) in which the machining means (20) is inserted, and a vibrator (40) which vibrates the vibrating body (30) in the extension direction of the machining means (20). By vibrating the vibrating body (30) by the vibrator (40) while the vibrating body is spaced from the workpiece (WK), a liquid layer (LL) in which the working liquid supplied between the vibrating body (30) and the workpiece (WK) is held in a space therebetween is formed and supersonic cavitation occurs in the liquid layer (LL). Thus, the supersonic cavitation is made to occur in the liquid layer (LL) while the working liquid partly supplied to a machining portion is retained as the liquid layer (LL) without immersing the entirety of the workpiece (WK) in the working liquid, whereby it is possible to stir the sludge in order to perform smooth machining, etc.</p>
