PURPOSE: A swash plate type compressor which has the improved performance coefficient is provided to improve the volumetric efficiency and suction volumetric efficiency of refrigerant by minimizing the flow resistance and a refrigerant suction path. CONSTITUTION: A swash plate type compressor(10) comprises a front cylinder block(11a), a rear cylinder block(11b), a plurality of pistons, a front housing(12), a rear housing(13), a valve plate, a suction valve(31), a suction port(15a), and an exhaust port(15b). The front cylinder block and rear cylinder block have a plurality of cylinder bores and a crank-case. The front housing is installed in the front of the front cylinder block. The rear housing is behind installed of the rear cylinder block.
