<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control discharge of hazardous substances such as aldehyde and carboxylic acid. <P>SOLUTION: A photocatalytic decomposing unit 13 includes a vessel 41 having an internal space and a photocatalyst substrate 44 to partition the internal space of the vessel 41. Both faces of the photocatalyst substrate 44 are coated with photocatalyst membranes 44a and 44a. One side 41a of the vessel 41 is equipped with a first window 42 to capture light, while the other side 41b is equipped with a second window 43 to capture light. The first window 42 to capture light is opposite to the fluorescent tube 32 of a liquid crystal display 7. The second window 43 to capture light is opposite to the lighting window 8b located on an upper housing 8. The aldehyde and carboxylic acid formed in a reforming unit 16 are supplied along with surplus water into the vessel 41 and decomposed by the photocatalytic function of the photocatalyst membranes 44a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
