<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve cost reduction and high efficiency by eliminating the necessity of a flywheel diode. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter includes an inverter circuit 120 having six switching elements 130. The switching elements 130 each consist of an SiC-MOSFET as a unipolar element employing a wideband gap semiconductor. In the inverter circuit 120, a parasitic diode 131 of the SiC-MOSFET 130 is used as a flywheel diode. Further, in the inverter circuit 120, synchronous rectification is executed to cause the SiC-MOSFET 130 to be turned on at a predetermined timing when a reverse current is applied to the parasitic diode 131 of the SiC-MOSFET 130. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
