<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system, a communication method, and a setting management server in which a user does not need to reset VPN setting information, when the same user uses other client terminals. <P>SOLUTION: A second client terminal 3 is connected to the setting management server 4 via an Internet network 7, and acquires a VPN address, VPN setting information, and SIP setting information, etc. Next, the second client terminal is connected to a VPN server 5, and connected to a VPN 8 on the basis of the VPN setting information by the VPN server 5.
