PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load for jackpot determination processing in a game machine. SOLUTION: The game machine is configured to execute auxiliary game according to passage of a game ball to a starting area and give a special game state advantageous for a player when the auxiliary game produces a special result. The game machine includes: a counter value generation means which updates a counter by a clock signal from an oscillating circuit; a detection means which detects the passage of the game ball to the starting area; a counter value acquisition means which acquires a counter value updated by the counter value generation means based on the detection by the detection means; and a determination means which determines whether to generate the special game state based on the counter value acquired by the counter value acquisition means. The determination is performed by use of a lower limit determination value showing the lower limit of the counter value which causes the generation of the special game state and an upper limit determination value showing the upper limit of the counter value which causes the generation of the special game state.
