<p>A method and a system for handing over a user equipment (UE) to a carrier aggregation cell are provided in the present invention. The method includes the following steps: transmitting a handover request or a relocation request, which explicitly or implicitly includes information about one carrier or more carriers, from the source network side to a target network side (100); and the handover request acknowledgement, the relocation response or the relocation request acknowledgement, which is returned from the target network side to the source network side, includes resources of one carrier or more carriers (101). By applying the method provided in the present invention, the target network side knows the environment of the channel which the UE stays in, that is, knows which component carrier measured by the UE is appropriate, then, the component carrier allocated for UE by the target network side is selected according to the measurement result of UE, thus ensuring successful handover of UE, thereby enhancing the user experience, and improving the network service quality.</p> |
