APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MULTIPLE FA RECEPTION IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for multiple FA(Frequency Allocation) reception in a mobile communication system are provided to selectively use a multi-carrier mode and single carrier mode according to the quality of a received signal and a service procedure. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal obtains MBS(Multicast and Broadcast Service) information(1015). If the terminal is only for broadcast, the terminal activates a sub radio frequency chain(1020,1025). If the terminal is not only for broadcast, the terminal is operated in a single carrier mode(1030). If the single carrier mode is selected, the terminal performs sub RF chain inactivation and main RF chain reconfiguration(1035,1040). If the multi carrier mode is selected, the terminal performs sub RF chain activation and main RF chain reconfiguration(1050).
