<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generation system, a program and an information storage medium, capable of providing a player-friendly operation environment and generating a realistic image. <P>SOLUTION: A character is set as a long-period action restricted state (faint) when the character is cleanly hit, etc., and the long-term action restricted state is set as non-release for a period TL also when the next attack is delivered on the character which is in the long-term action restricted state. Reaction (attacked) motions are differed between the character in a normal state and the character in the long-term action restricted state. An attack in which reaction motions both for the normal state and the long-term action restricted state are prepared and an attack in which only the reaction motion for the normal state is prepared are provided. When a provocative attack and a specific combo attack are delivered on the character in the long-term action restricted state, the long-term action restriction period is reduced and extended.
