PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute partially specified video requested by a reproduction terminal. SOLUTION: In a distribution server 10, navigation encoded video data for selecting a desired area to be viewed and main encoded video data for reproducing the selected area are stored as one encoded video data. The reproduction terminal 20 selects the desired area to be viewed from navigation video being in stream reproduction, and transmits a distribution request for the main encoded video data corresponding to the selected area and a distribution request for the navigation encoded video data to a distribution server by an extended PLAY method of RTSP protocol. The distribution server reads out the main encoded video data of the area requested by the extended PLAY method and the navigation encoded video data, turns the read main encoded video data of the requested area and navigation encoded video data to one encoded video data, and distributes the data to the reproduction terminal.
