PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve gear in which the reduction of processing costs and the weight reduction of a pivot can be obtained, and the reduction of manufacturing costs can be expected, while maintaining performance. SOLUTION: A cylinder head 11 includes a pivot mounting hole 12 with a bottom and a head side oil passage 16 for supplying lubricating oil. A pivot 20 includes a pivot body 21 including an internally opened oil chamber 31 that has a base 22 including a base end 20a side which is opened, and an outer periphery surface 22a which can be fitted into a pivot mounting hole 12, and a support 25 having a supporting surface 25a at top end side 20b and continuously formed at the base 22 which are continuously formed in a cylindrical shape having a top; a lateral opening hole 33; a top opening hole 34; and a drain groove 32 formed in a spiral shape on the outer periphery surface 22a of the base 22 for making the lateral opening hole 33 communicate with an opening 13 of the pivot mounting hole 12. The weight reduction of the pivot 20 and the reduction of manufacturing costs becomes possible, and thus, the weight reduction and an improvement in productivity can be expected while maintaining functions of a valve gear.
