PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a false discharge of a plasma ignition plug in a discharging part at a timing greatly different from an ignition timing and to prevent a rotational failure of an engine, and moreover, to reduce an electric power loss in an ignition circuit. SOLUTION: The plasma jet ignition device includes a high voltage pulse circuit 2, and a large current pulse circuit 3 with an energy storage capacitor 6 for supplying energy to the discharging part 1a. A period of time from ON of a switch 7 of the large current pulse circuit 3 to OFF of a switch element 13 of the high voltage pulse circuit 2 is determined as a prescribed time. By an ON signal of the switch 7 from a control circuit 4, charging of the energy storage capacitor 6 is performed at a voltage value larger than that of a DC power source 5 occurring by the LC resonance between a resonance coil 8 in the large current pulse circuit 3 and the energy storage capacitor 6. Moreover, by OFF of the switch element 13, a discharge in the discharge part 1a is started to supply energy from the energy storage capacitor 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
