PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a new horizontal continuous conduction heat transfer type dryer capable of properly performing drying processing even on a processed object of sharp fluctuation of properties, by measuring an apparent density of a dried product discharged from the horizontal continuous conduction heat transfer type dryer, and controlling an accumulation amount of intermediate products (processed object under drying) on the way of the processing in a shell body to the amount to efficiently operate the horizontal continuous conduction heat transfer type dryer, while applying the measured value as a determination factor. SOLUTION: The apparent density of the dried product D discharged from a body shell 10 is measured, and an opening/closing time of a shuttering 108 disposed on an outlet 102 for discharging the dried product D in the body shell 10, is changed according to the apparent density, thus the accumulation amount of the intermediate products H1 under drying, accumulated in the body shell 10 is adjusted.
