<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ethanol production technique by which ethanol can be produced efficiently even in case a fermentation substrate deemed to be difficult for treatment, such as waste molasses, is used, and to provide a technique for solid ethanol fermentation using a solid substrate adsorbed and immobilized with waste molasses in high concentrations on an immobilizing carrier through adopting, into ethanol fermentation, a solid fermentation process as bioethanol production system suppressing maximally the exhaust levels of a distillation liquid waste. <P>SOLUTION: The ethanol production method is characterized in including: the step of using a food, with starch as the main constitutive saccharide, as an immobilizing carrier and adsorbing a first fermentation substrate onto the immobilizing carrier to prepare a solid substrate; the step of conducting an ethanol fermentation by adsorbing yeast onto the solid substrate; the step of extracting ethanol from the solid substrate after ending the fermentation; and the refermentation step of conducting a second ethanol fermentation by adsorbing a second fermentation substrate and yeast onto a carrier obtained after the ethanol extractive step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
