PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression device sealing the inside of a pump with a simple construction requiring no safety valve and, when internal pressure in the pump rises beyond a predetermined value, releasing the internal pressure to the outside. SOLUTION: The compression device includes compression elements such as a rotor and vanes in a casing. The compression device includes, in the pump from a discharge port of the compression elements to an exhaust opening formed in the casing, a seal member 60 for sealing the internal pressure in the pump. The seal member 60 is provided with a movable portion 62 elastically deforming for releasing the internal pressure to the outside when the internal pressure rises beyond the predetermined value.
