PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color shift determining apparatus, a color shift correcting apparatus, and an image reading apparatus which are capable of flexibly dealing with even various color shift patterns and are practical. SOLUTION: A color shift determining apparatus includes: a pixel classifying means for classifying image data obtained by reading in color an object to be read including a monochromatic region for each of a color pixel and a monochromatic pixel to produce pixel classified data; and a color shift determining means for determining whether or not a color shift region constituted of a region of color pixels continuous to monochromatic pixels is included in image data based on a color shift determination reference pattern including a first pattern continued form the monochromatic pixel to the color pixel.
