A quick location method and apparatus for display contents on an electronic device are provided. The method includes: displaying a direction soft key, which includes a central contact and at least one moving direction, on a touch display screen (201); determining a coordinate value of an original position of the central contact (202); determining the moving direction and a coordinate value of a moved position of the central contact, and obtaining a movement distance using the coordinate value of the original position and the coordinate value of the moved position (203); locating the current display content on the touch display screen based on first corresponding relation between the preset moving direction and a location mode, as well as second corresponding relation between the movement distance and a location step (204).
