The wood composite component (10) is provided with a rod shaped solid wood core or glue-laminated wood core (8), which has external wooden veneer layer on the visible outer surfaces, which is glued with the core. The wooden veneer layer comprises two, particularly three or multiple veneer layers (2,4,6) lying crossed over each other and glued together, in which the veneer layers glued together one after another are oriented in an angle of its seam longitudinal direction of around ninety degrees. An independent claim is also included for a part of the building.
