The holder has a rectangular base element (100) with a flat front side (110) for attachment of a label e.g. price label, and a rear side, which has a groove-shaped recess to hold a retaining element (310) with a projection. A frame element (200) has a lateral enclosure (230), which is slid onto the base element. The frame element has a laminar frame part (210), which has a recess (220) that partially allows the front side of the base element to be visible in slid condition. The retaining element is accommodated in the recess by lateral insertion.
