PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a function expansion device capable of effectively preventing an information processor and a function expansion device mounted on an information processor from being stolen. SOLUTION: A PC card 60 includes a body part 60a, an extension part 60b connected to the body part 60a and located at the ejection side of a PC card slot 10 when the PC card 60 is inserted into the slot 10, and a connection mechanism for connecting the body part 60a and the extension part 60b, wherein the body part 60a releases, when detecting the movement of a notebook type PC 1 in the case of being a security mode, or a start of an operation for inserting/ejecting the PC card 60, the connection of the body part 60a and the extension part 60b in order to prevent the body part 60a from being inserted/ejected.
