PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to transmit a video file without being conscious of a plurality of communication protocols. SOLUTION: When a video file to be transmitted to a client device is selected, it is discriminated whether the selected video file includes copyright protection information (step S12) and in accordance with a discrimination results, a communication protocol to be transmitted to the client device is selected (steps S13, S14). When the video file to be transmitted to the client device is newly selected, it is discriminated whether the newly selected video file can be transmitted to the client device using the selected communication protocol (step S17), transmission video file list information indicating selected video files and video file determined transmissible is managed (step S18) and one or more video files indicated by the transmission video file list information are transmitted to the client device using the selected protocol (step S20).
