PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem in a conventional transformer, wherein the installation of a dynamic damper is effective in reducing the noise level of the transformer, but is incompatible with an increase of noise caused by variations in natural frequency of the transformer by temperature changes. SOLUTION: The transformer includes: a tank; an iron core held in the tank; a winding; a conservator provided on the tank; and an oil controller. Controlling the amount of oil in the conservator enables the control of natural frequency of the transformer such that it does not match the dominant frequency of noise, even if the natural frequency of the transformer varies by temperature changes, thus a transformer is provided that is capable of inhibiting the increase of noise.
