PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anchor for ship, which releases any snag without breaking any component such as a breaking pin in a conventional design when the anchor is snagged. SOLUTION: The anchor A for ship includes a fluke 1, a shank 2 with its base end side being attached to a base end side of the fluke 1, and turnable in the direction of the surface-back surface side of the fluke 1 around an attached part, and a rotation control mechanism unit which performs the control to limit the movement of the shank 2 with respect to the fluke 1 within a predetermined range in the anchor-pickup or anchor-holding state, and to release the limit with respect to the fluke 1 when the force toward the base end side of the shank 2 is applied to the shank 2.
