PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external structure which is excellent in harmful gas decomposability, mildewproof properties and alga-proof properties while suppressing the deterioration of a base material and the color of whose photocatalyst layer is hardly changed, and to provide a coating liquid for the external structure. SOLUTION: The external structure includes the base material and a photocatalyst layer arranged on the base material. The photocatalyst layer is obtained by applying the coating liquid for the external structure and drying the applied coating liquid for the external structure. The coating liquid for the external structure includes a photocatalytic titanium oxide particle, a curable silicone emulsion, a water-soluble copper compound, a hydroxyphenyl triazine compound and water.
