PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens driving device for smoothly driving a lens even when the lens is moved in a vertical direction for use. SOLUTION: The lens driving device includes a lens holder having an opening for housing the lens, and a supporting part supporting the lens holder to displace in an optical axis direction of the lens. A plate magnet having a magnetic pole on a plate surface is attached to an outer circumferential surface of the lens holder, and a coil applying current in a direction parallel with the plate surface of the magnet and perpendicular to the optical axis of the lens is arranged in the supporting part, and also a magnetic member facing the plate surface of the magnet across the coil is arranged therein. Area of a region where the magnet and the magnetic member face each other is not changed with displacement of the lens holder. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
