PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device effectively storing change log data for Japanese reading aid, in update of a recognition dictionary. SOLUTION: The portable electronic device 1 includes: a Japanese reading aid DB 51 for storing Japanese reading aid correspondence data in which predetermined processing is associated with the Japanese reading aid which can be edited; a recognition dictionary DB 52 for storing a recognition dictionary data including options of the Japanese reading aid, which is collated with a result of speech recognition; an execution section 41 for executing predetermined processing corresponding to the collated Japanese reading aid; an update information DB 53 for storing an update data for indicating difference of the Japanese reading aid correspondence data and the recognition dictionary data; and an update section 42 for storing the update data in the update information DB 53 and updating the recognition dictionary data at predetermined timing when the Japanese reading aid correspondence data are updated. When the reading correspondence data are updated a plurality of times before update of the recognition dictionary data, the update section 42 optimizes difference for updating the recognition dictionary data to the Japanese reading aid which is updated last, to one update data, and stores them.
