PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner preventing dust from being caught in the interior of a suction port body, suppressing the energy loss of air flowing in the interior of the suction port body, preventing the generation of noise in the suction port body and facilitating the insertion of another pipe such as an extension pipe into the suction port body. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner includes the suction port body 7 whose one end is communicated with a cleaner body side and whose other end allows the insertion of another pipe, wherein the suction port body 7 has a pipe member 8 allowing the insertion of the other pipe, a brush member 9 being projectable towards the pipe member 8, and an engagement portion 33 projecting to the inside of the pipe member 8 to be engageable with the other pipe inserted into the pipe member 8. In a state where no other pipe is inserted into the pipe member 8, the engagement member 33 is held in such a state as being shifted in the other side of the projecting direction to the inside of the pipe member 8.
