PURPOSE: A battery controlling apparatus for vehicles and a method for the same are provided to separate battery cells into a plurality of groups and independently charge the separated groups. CONSTITUTION: A controlling part(340) determines battery cells into a plurality of groups. The average voltage value of the battery cells is obtained. Based on the average voltage value, the groups are determined. The controlling part generates a switching control signal in order to select the determined groups. A switching part(350) independently selects the groups based on the switching control signal. The groups are independently charged.
