PURPOSE: A tool post of a turning center is provided to prevent damage due to the fracture of a timing belt during the processing of workpieces by replacement of a timing belt before the processing of workpieces. CONSTITUTION: A tool post of a turning center comprises a body frame(100), a clutch device(50), a bracket(110), a drive motor(70), and a timing belt(60). The body frame comprises an indexing gear and a center shaft. The indexing gear indexes a turret head(40). The center shaft transfers the power to a rotary tool. A follower timing gear(51) of the clutch device is exposed. The clutch device controls the power transmission of the driven timing gear to the indexing gear or the center shaft. The opening portion of the bracket is formed on one side of the frame. A drive timing gear(72) of the drive motor is placed in the opening of the bracket.
