PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide that has excellent stability more than before, when molded and as a product, such that it has little deterioration due to decomposition etc., when molded and low water absorption. SOLUTION: The polyamide includes an aromatic dicarboxylic acid component unit, wherein terephthalic acid is a representative example, and a diamine component unit having a specific carbon number. The polyamide that has excellent stability when molded and also low water absorption is obtained by including the diamine component unit having a specific carbon number with a specific ratio.
