PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium fixing device and an image forming device of applying the same, capable of particularly effectively restraining turning-over and floating of a peripheral part of a recording medium, by stably fixing and holding the recording medium of various kinds and sizes. SOLUTION: Auxiliary suction grooves 210A, 210B, 210C and 210D are arranged in a position corresponding to a rear end part of the recording medium in an unopened part 208 of a suction sheet 230. The auxiliary suction grooves communicate with an auxiliary suction groove communicating hole 290, and has the function of applying suction pressure to the rear end part of the recording medium. By arranging a plurality of auxiliary suction grooves in response to a plurality of sizes, even when using the recording medium different in the size, the rear end part of the recording medium can be surely sucked on the respective sizes.
