PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector assembly formed of a cable side connector and a receptacle connector, wherein the cable side connector facilitates insertion of a terminal into a housing and has a lance for increasing an engagement amount with the terminal, after fitted to the receptacle terminal. SOLUTION: The lance 19 is arranged on the outer wall of the housing 11 of the cable side connector 10 and is positioned to be pressed by a corresponding part of the receptacle connector 50, in a state that the connector is fitted. The lance 19 and the corresponding part press to each other, at regular fitting positions of both of the connectors. When the lance 19 is bent elastically and displaced by pressing force from the corresponding part, a locking amount of a locking part 19B to the terminal increases as compared to prior to the connector s fitted.
