PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core for casting in which thermal expansion is suppressed, and which has high dimensional precision and prevents the corrosion of a casting alloy upon collapse. SOLUTION: The core for casting is obtained, using a raw material obtained by adding hard particles (excluding alumina) not dissolved in the molten salt of the above mixed salt so as to be 0.5 to 50 vol.% to a mixed salt composed of 20 to 50 mass% sodium chloride, and the balance barium chloride with impurities of≤1 mass%, by performing molding according to melting casting.
