PURPOSE: A method for providing a service and a mobile terminal thereof are provided to execute a predetermined service according to the location information of a mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A wireless Internet module(113) is connected to a wireless Internet, and a control unit(180) detects an AP(Access Point) or is connected to an AP(Access Point) through the wireless Internet module. The control unit extracts an SSID(Service Set ID) or BSSID(Basic Service Set ID) from the detection or the connected AP. In addition, the control unit extracts location information based on the extracted SSID or BSSID. If the extracted location information is identical to the predetermined location information, the control unit executes a predetermined function corresponding to the predetermined location information.
