PURPOSE: A broadcasting signal receiving device and a method thereof are provided to receive both T-DMB(Terrestrial-Digital Multimedia Broadcasting), and AT-DMB(Advanced Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) signal without using an additional receiving device. CONSTITUTION: A demodulation unit(102) demodulates broadcasting signal at one of the broadcast signal receiving mode between T-DMB(Terrestrial-Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) mode and AT-DMB(Advanced Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) modes. A receiving mode selection unit(114) selects the demodulation mode. The receiving mode selecting unit selects a signal receiving mode among the T-DMB mode or a plurality of AT-DMB modes through an error inspection about a high-speed information channel data.
