<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the quantity of dirt in a washing liquid without influence of water stream or foam, etc. generated from the rotation of a rotary tub or drum. <P>SOLUTION: An outer tub 2 is disposed within a casing 1, and the drum 3 is disposed in such a state as rotatable by a horizontal or inclined rotating shaft within the outer tub 2. A water intake 5 is connected to the lowest bottom of the outer tub 2. The washing machine has a circulation pathway 9 connected to an outlet 8 for discharging the washing liquid taken from the water intake 5 into the drum 3, and a circulation pump 12 and a washing liquid state detecting means 10 for detecting the state of the washing liquid are set in the circulation pathway 9. Since the washing liquid state detecting means 10 is disposed on the downstream side of the circulation pump 12 within the circulation pathway 9, the quantity of dirt in the washing liquid can be accurately detected by the washing liquid state detecting means 10 without influence of water stream or foam generated from the rotation of the drum 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
